Our first show of the year brings together culinary virtuoso John Javier alongside a rare DJ set from one-half of leading UK electronic music artists, Mount Kimbie. As always, the evening begins with a multi-course, multi-sensory experience shaped by John and Kai, before we clear the tables and Kai takes us deep into the night with a rare DJ set.
John Javier is the rockstar chef behind some of the most exciting food found in London. Not bound by tradition or genre, the globe-trotting chef leaves a trail of outlandishly good food in his wake wherever he goes, from his critically acclaimed Sydney restaurant MASTER to his time at Happy Paradise in Hong Kong, where the late Anthony Bourdain described his visit on Parts Unknown as “the most stunning meal” he’d eaten in the city. While John's most recent reign at West London’s, Caia, enjoys a cult-like status amongst those in the know.
For {PAIRED} John is delving deep into the flavour vaults, delivering a menu that blends contemporary technique and playful contrasts. If you’ve eaten John’s food before, you already know the joy he brings to the table. If you haven’t, this is your chance to catch him in full creative flight.
He pairs up with a true pioneer of the UK’s underground electronic music scene, as Kai from Mount Kimbie steps behind the decks to co-create another unique experience unlike any other found in the city. Leaning into the more esoteric corners of his collection, Kai's layered, textured and immersive style compliments John's creative approach, it's music to lose yourself in before we clear the tables and Kai takes us on an exploratory and finely tuned journey for the dancefloor.
